\tThis bill requires the commissioner of the department of education to report on the number of students receiving differentiated aid from the state and to compare the statewide assessment results of those students, by category of aid received, with the statewide assessment results of students not receiving differentiated aid.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trequiring the department of education to report statewide assessment results for school districts receiving certain state aid.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  New Section; Adequate Education; Report on Differentiated Aid.  Amend RSA 198 by inserting after section 40-d the following new section:

\t198:40-e  Report on Differentiated Aid.

\t\tI.  Beginning November 1, 2016, and annually thereafter, the commissioner shall submit a report to the speaker of the house of representatives, the president of senate, and the chairpersons of the house and senate finance committees relative to the number of students statewide receiving differentiated aid under RSA 198:40-a sorted into the following categories:

\t\t\t(a) Free and reduced-price meals under RSA 198:40-a, I.

\t\t\t(b) English language learners under RSA 198:40-a, II.

\t\t\t(c)  Third grade reading proficiency under RSA 198:40-a, II-a.

\t\t\t(d)  Special education under RSA 198:40-a, III.

\t\tII.  The commissioner shall include in the report the most recently available statewide assessment results of students receiving differentiated aid, sorted by the category of differentiated aid received.  The report shall not contain individual student assessment results or any other personally identifiable information relating to any student receiving differentiated aid.  The report shall also include information on the number of years each student in each category has received differentiated aid, a comparison of the statewide assessment results of students within each category of aid with the statewide assessment results of students not receiving differentiated aid both at the school in which the student attends and statewide.

\t2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
