AN ACT relative to automobile insurance.

This bill prohibits an insurance company from charging or increasing an automobile insurance premium for adults in the household of the policyholder who have title to an automobile.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT relative to automobile insurance.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Automobile Insurance; Inclusion Prohibited. Amend RSA 412 by inserting after section 17 the following new section:

412:17-a Inclusion Prohibited. No insurer may charge or increase a premium under a policy of automobile insurance for an adult living in the household of the policyholder, if the adult holds a valid title to an automobile and the policyholder requests that the adult not be included in the policy.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2007.
