HOUSE BILL 1297
AN ACT relative to requirements for a vehicle dealer license.
This bill prohibits persons convicted of certain crimes from applying for or receiving a vehicle dealer license.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six
AN ACT relative to requirements for a vehicle dealer license.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Vehicle Dealer License Required; Criminal Record. Amend RSA 261:103-a, XIII to read as follows:
XIII. A criminal record for each applicant and a statement whether the applicant has ever been subject to a civil judgment connected with a motor vehicle business. No person who has been convicted of a felony or of any crime of fraud, forgery, theft, or receiving stolen property, or the same or a similar offense in this or any other state, shall apply for or receive a license under this section.
2 Applicability. No person who has been convicted of a felony or of any crime of fraud, forgery, theft, or receiving stolen property, or the same or a similar offense in this or any other state, and who holds a license under RSA 261:103-a on the effective date of this act shall be required to surrender said license so long as the date of the conviction is prior to the effective date of this act.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
