AN ACT relative to the New Hampshire-Vermont interstate waste compact.

This bill makes the New Hampshire-Vermont interstate compact permissive rather than mandatory.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT relative to the New Hampshire-Vermont interstate waste compact.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Compact. Amend the introductory paragraph of RSA 53-D:1 to read as follows:

53-D:1 Compact. The state of New Hampshire [enters] may enter into the following compact with the state of Vermont subject to the terms and conditions herein stated.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
