STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six
A RESOLUTION supporting efforts for commuter rail in the state of New Hampshire.
Whereas, commuter rail service in the state of New Hampshire would offer our citizens an important transportation alternative to using congested highways; and
Whereas, having commuter rail service in New Hampshire would be a significant economic development opportunity for the state; and
Whereas, the restoration of commuter rail service to New Hampshire requires the coordinated efforts of the city, state, and federal governments working in partnership with regional representatives and the private sector; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
That the general court supports the efforts to restore commuter rail to New Hampshire; and
That the general court understands the need to find solutions to a number of issues, including funding and a management structure, such as a regional transit authority, and urges the appropriate parties to pursue solutions in order to restore commuter rail to the state of New Hampshire in a timely fashion.
