STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

A RESOLUTION urging Congress to reimburse New Hampshire municipalities for the amounts granted in veterans’ tax credits.

Whereas, under RSA 72:28, all residents of New Hampshire who served over 3 months in the armed forces of the United states in any qualifying war or armed conflict and were honorably discharged or officers honorably separated from service receive a veterans’ tax credit on their residential property; and

Whereas, the cities, towns, and municipalities of New Hampshire currently lose important revenues by honoring the veterans’ tax credit; and

Whereas, men and women in all branches of the military performed their service, not only for their local communities, but also for the greater good of the entire country; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the New Hampshire general court urges Congress to reimburse New Hampshire municipalities for the money they lose by honoring the veterans’ tax credit; and

That the house clerk send copies of this resolution to each member of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
