STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT establishing an employment restriction on former board members of public corporations.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Subdivision; Public Corporations. Amend RSA 21-G by inserting after section 29 the following new subdivision:

Public Corporations

21-G:30 Definition. In this subdivision, “public corporation” means any public body corporate and politic performing public and essential governmental functions and exercising powers conferred by statute, whether the corporation is part of the state or has a distinct legal existence separate from it.

21-G:31 Employment Restriction. No public corporation shall employ a person who is a member of its board of directors sooner than one year after such person has ceased to be a director of the corporation.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
