STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT relative to the tax exemption for solar energy systems.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Tax Exemption; Solar Energy System. Amend RSA 72:62 to read as follows:

72:62 Exemption for Solar Energy Systems. Each city and town may adopt under RSA 72:27-a an exemption from the assessed value, for property tax purposes, for persons owning real property which is equipped with a solar energy system as defined in RSA 72:61. The amount of the exemption granted shall not exceed the actual cost of the installation of the solar energy system and shall be granted whether or not the cost of the solar energy system is included in the assessed value of the property.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect April 1, 2007.
