STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven
AN ACT relative to the special meeting requirements for municipalities.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subparagraphs; At Special Meetings. Amend RSA 31:5, I by inserting after subparagraph (c) the following new subparagraphs:
(d) In towns that have adopted the provisions of RSA 41:14-a, the selectmen shall comply with all of the requirements listed in RSA 41:14-a prior to petitioning the superior court for permission to hold a special meeting.
(e) The subject matter of any written petition presented to the selectmen, pursuant to RSA 41:14-a, I, and presented prior to a petition by selectmen to the superior court for a special meeting, shall not be considered an emergency as defined in RSA 31:5, I(b).
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
