HB 806-FN-LOCAL - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to a traffic light in the town of Seabrook.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Transportation indicates this bill will increase state highway fund expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2007, FY 2008 and FY 2009. There will be no fiscal impact on state, county and local revenue or local and county expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department of Transportation (DOT) states that this bill requires the DOT to install a left turn signal at the traffic light at the intersection of Route 1 and Pine Street in Seabrook. DOT states the increase in state highway expenditures is indeterminable because the cost of right-of-way and utility relocation is not known. DOT did, however, estimate project construction costs. The project is expected to begin in FY 2007 and be completed in FY 2009. The estimated project construction costs are shown below:

Box widening, relocated sidewalk, curbing, drainage $275,000

Traffic signal equipment & modifications $75,000

    Maintenance of traffic $50,000

    Mobilization, water pollution control $40,000

    Emergency, public involvement $90,000

    Total $530,000
