AN ACT relative to oaths required of public officers.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT relative to oaths required of public officers.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Tenure and Oath of Office in Certain Cases; Oath Required. Amend RSA 92:2 to read as follows:

92:2 Oath Required. No person chosen or appointed to any public office or to any position where an oath is required, under any law, shall exercise such office or position or perform any act therein until he or she shall make and subscribe the oath or declaration as prescribed by part 2, article 84 of the constitution of New Hampshire, and any such [person] officer or magistrate of the state and its political subdivisions, who violates said oath after taking the same, shall be forthwith dismissed from the office or position involved by the governor and council or by order of the general court.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
