STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT extending Medicaid to prevent gaps in coverage under the New Hampshire healthy kids program.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Medicaid; New Hampshire Healthy Kids Program.

I. The department of health and human services shall amend state Medicaid eligibility criteria to ensure that there is no gap in health insurance for children in the New Hampshire healthy kids program who transition from “healthy kids gold” to “healthy kids silver” by extending the eligibility period for children enrolled in the “healthy kids gold” program to the end of the month.

II. On or before January 10, 2009, the department of health and human services shall submit a report to the speaker of the house of representatives, the president of the senate, and the governor verifying the steps the department has taken to implement the program eligibility change.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
