HOUSE RESOLUTION No. 20

Memorializing State Representative Bruce F. Hunter of Goffstown

WHEREAS, it is with great sorrow that we learned of the death of our friend and colleague, Bruce F. Hunter of Goffstown, a valued and respected member of the House of Representatives who was in his eighth term representing the residents of Goffstown and Weare in Hillsborough County District #7; and,

WHEREAS, Bruce F. Hunter accomplished his committee work with distinction during his three terms on the Committee on Public Protection and Veterans Affairs, one term on the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety, three terms on the Finance Committee and in his current term as a member of the Committee on Municipal and County Government; and

WHEREAS, Bruce F. Hunter served his community of Goffstown as a Selectman for three terms, where he was known for his compassion and his willingness to help others with their problems – whether large or small; and

WHEREAS, Bruce F. Hunter was a staunch supporter of local law enforcement who, along with his wife, Edna, raised the funds to implement the local Halloween Safety Program; and

WHEREAS, a veteran with six years of service in the United States Navy, Bruce F. Hunter was a Life Member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, affiliations which he honored through his work in the House of Representatives on legislation related to the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery by his highly motivated efforts to secure a site and create the plans necessary to apply to the federal government via the Veterans Administration for the necessary funding; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the New Hampshire House of Representatives in Regular Session convened, that Bruce F. Hunter be granted the highest praise and accolades for his dedicated service to his community, his state and his country, and be it further

RESOLVED, that expressions of heartfelt sympathy be extended to the members of his family and a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared for presentation to them.
