HOUSE RESOLUTION No. 31

Memorializing State Representative Robert W. Forsing of Raymond

WHEREAS, we have learned with great sorrow of the death of our friend and colleague
Robert W. Forsing, who was in his second term representing the citizens of Rockingham County district #2, the Town of Raymond; and,

WHEREAS, Robert W. Forsing served with dignity as a member of the Committee on Election Law, earning the respect of his committee colleagues by the quiet but thoughtful way in which he participated in their deliberations; and,

WHEREAS, Robert W. Forsing was a committed advocate for elderly citizens in the State of New Hampshire, having served for many years on the AARP State Legislative Committee, eventually becoming the Chair of that committee and a familiar figure around the State House while following legislation on its behalf and having served for the last four years as a member of SCOA, the State Committee on the Aging; and,

WHEREAS, Bob Forsing was instrumental in the planning and founding of the General Court Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, and had been an active member of the Masonic fraternity since 1992; and,

WHEREAS, Bob Forsing would often appear in full Scottish dress for Tartan Day ceremonies, being a man who was extremely proud of his Scottish heritage, and

WHEREAS, Bob Forsing had a large family whom he loved deeply, reviving the Raymond Fourth of July Celebration in memory of his wife, Patricia, and often bringing his grandchildren with him when he had business to attend to at the State House; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the House of Representatives in Regular Session convened, that Robert W. Forsing, a Korean War Veteran of the United States Air Force, be granted high praise and accolades for his service to his town, his state and his country; and be it further

RESOLVED, that expressions of heartfelt sympathy be extended to the members of his family and that a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared for presentation to them.
