STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT requiring hospitals to report on their standards and criteria for organ donations and transplants.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Annual Report on Standards and Criteria for Organ Donations and Transplants. Amend RSA 151 by inserting after section 18 the following new section:

151:18-a Annual Report on Standards and Criteria for Organ Donations and Transplants. Any hospital licensed pursuant to this chapter shall make an annual report by January 15 on its standards and criteria for organ donations and transplants, including whether its criteria include requirements that the patient donating or receiving the organ be insured. The report shall be submitted to the commissioner of the department of health and human services, the members of the health, human services and elderly affairs committee of the house of representatives, and the members of the senate health and human services committee. The commissioner of the department of health and human services shall make the report available to the public.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
