AN ACT relative to penalties for unauthorized disclosure of confidential matters in legislative ethics proceedings.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT relative to penalties for unauthorized disclosure of confidential matters in legislative ethics proceedings.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

132:1 New Section; Legislative Ethics; Confidentiality; Penalty. Amend RSA 14-B by inserting after section 4 the following new section:

14-B:4-a Penalty for Unauthorized Disclosure. Any person who knowingly or willfully makes unauthorized disclosure of confidential matters or materials contrary to RSA 14-B:4, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and may be subject to disciplinary action as provided in this chapter and other applicable law.

132:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2009.
