STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
AN ACT relative to the adoption of fees for inspections and plan review services by the division of fire safety.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Fees for Inspections and Plan Reviews by the Division of Fire Safety. Amend RSA 153 by inserting after section 9 the following new section:
153:9-a Fees for Inspections and Plan Review. The state fire marshal, with approval of the commissioner of safety, shall establish by rule under RSA 541-A reasonable fees for services of the division of fire safety to include building, life safety, and fire protection inspections and plan review for renovations and new construction projects where such review is required by law or requested by an entity. Fees collected under this section shall be deposited in the fire standards and training and emergency medical services fund established in RSA 21-P:12-d.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2010.

AN ACT relative to the adoption of fees for inspections and plan review services by the division of fire safety.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Safety states this bill may increase state revenue by an indeterminable amount. This bill would have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local expenditures, or county and local revenue.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department of Safety states this bill establishes rulemaking authority for the state Fire Marshal to establish fees for inspections and plan reviews where required by law or requested by an entity. The state Fire Marshal has not yet determined a reasonable fee for these services, therefore the fiscal impact on Fire & EMS Fund revenue cannot be estimated.
