STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT requiring the agreement of 10 jurors on issues of liability or damages for jury verdicts in trials of civil actions.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Superior Court; Jury Trials. Amend RSA 491 by inserting after section 7-a the following new section:

491:7-b Jury Trials; Issues of Liability or Damages. The agreement of at least 10 jurors on issues of liability or damages shall be required for jury verdicts in trials of civil actions.

2 New Section; Regional Jury Trials. Amend RSA 502-A by inserting after section 12-a the following new section:

502-A:12-b Regional Jury Trials; Issues of Liability or Damages. The agreement of at least 10 jurors on issues of liability or damages shall be required for jury verdicts in trials of civil actions.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2010.
