STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to zoning districts.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Zoning; Districts. Amend RSA 674:20 to read as follows:

674:20 Districts. In order to accomplish any or all of the purposes of a zoning ordinance enumerated under RSA 674:17, the local legislative body may divide the municipality into districts of a number, shape, and area as may be deemed best suited to carry out the purposes of RSA 674:17. The local legislative body may regulate and restrict the erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, or use of buildings, structures, or land within each district which it creates, provided that no regulation or restriction shall prohibit residential uses in any district. All regulations shall be uniform for each class or kind of buildings throughout each district, but the regulations in one district may differ from those in other districts.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
