AN ACT relative to the state loan repayment program for health professionals.

ANALYSIS

This bill declares that when moneys are appropriated to the New Hampshire state loan repayment program for health professionals in the state budget, the moneys for the state loan program shall not be reduced or diverted unless approved by the fiscal committee and adopted by a majority vote of both chambers of the legislature.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to the state loan repayment program for health professionals.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Appropriations to the State Loan Repayment Program; Department of Health and Human Services. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, when moneys are appropriated in the state budget to the New Hampshire state loan repayment program administered by the department of health and human services for loan forgiveness for health practitioners serving rural and underserved areas, the moneys shall not be reduced or diverted unless approved by the fiscal committee and adopted by a majority vote of both chambers of the legislature.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
