STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to reproducing the 1792 New Hampshire constitution and making an appropriation therefor.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Findings. The general court finds that the Constitution of the State of New Hampshire enrolled in 1792 is a rare and historical document. Due to its unique status as an irreplaceable reference document, it ought to be preserved and disseminated among the people.

2 Appropriation; Secretary of State; Archives and Records Management; 1792 Constitution. The sum of $15,000 is hereby appropriated to the secretary of state for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, for the purpose of providing funds for the division of archives and records management to reproduce the 1792 revision of the New Hampshire constitution, and make such version available to the public pursuant to RSA 5:30, XI. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.

HB 444-FN-A - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to reproducing the 1792 New Hampshire constitution and making an appropriation therefor.

FISCAL IMPACT:

      The Secretary of State states this bill will increase state general fund expenditures by $15,000 in FY 2010. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local expenditures or state, county, and local revenue.

      This bill appropriates the sum of $15,000 from the state general fund to the Department in FY 2010 for the purposes of this bill.

METHODOLOGY:

    The Secretary of State states this bill appropriates $15,000 for the purpose of providing funds to reproduce the 1792 revision of the New Hampshire constitution and make copies available to the public.
