HOUSE BILL 501

AN ACT relative to recovery of assistance by the department of health and human services.

SPONSORS: Rep. Wall, Straf 7

COMMITTEE: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs

ANALYSIS

This bill removes a reference to tenancy in common from property subject to recovery of assistance by the department of health and human services. Under federal law, a tenancy in common would be part of the estate subject to probate and thus subject to recovery by the department.

This bill is a request of the department of health and human services.
