HB 511-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT relative to a corridor study of Route 33.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Transportation states this bill will increase state highway fund expenditures by $12,000 in FY 2010. This bill will have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue or county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
This bill requires the Department of Transportation to conduct a corridor study of NH Route 33 from the Portsmouth line to the Stratham line running through Greenland. The Department of Transportation states this bill will increase highway fund expenditures by the costs associated with the performance of the corridor study. The Department’s estimate is based on a comparison of costs associated with other similar corridor studies. The Department estimates the actual cost of the study to be approximately $60,000, however, the Department’s estimate assumes the corridor study would be a part of the Federal Aid Highway program and as such would receive federal funding that would be matched by the state (80% federal 20% state). Based on the proposed legislation’s requirement that the Department submits a report detailing the results of the study no later than November 1, 2010, the Department assumes the study would be completed in FY 2010.
This bill does not contain an appropriation.
