STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
A RESOLUTION requesting that Congress appropriate funds to revitalize public facilities for access to the ocean and seashore.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
Whereas, public access to the ocean and seashore is important to the economy, health, and welfare of all citizens; and
Whereas, the public facilities at Hampton Beach State Park were built in 1962, and are in disrepair; and
Whereas, the state has a plan detailing the reconstruction and revitalization of the Hampton Beach State Park area; and
Whereas, such plan would provide a new outdoor amphitheater and new public facilities which would provide improved educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities for the citizens of New Hampshire and the surrounding areas; and
Whereas, the Hampton Beach State Park renovation project would result in a revitalization of the local economy, and contribute to a resurgence in tourism which is a vital industry in the state of New Hampshire; and
Whereas, there is a history of federal support of public works projects that are recognized to stimulate the economy and create employment opportunities; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
That the state of New Hampshire requests that Congress appropriate $20,000,000 for implementation of the Hampton Beach State Park revitalization plan; and
That copies of this resolution be forwarded to all members of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
