STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to the definition of “neighborhood electric vehicle.”

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Definition; Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. Amend RSA 259:66-b to read as follows:

259:66-b Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. “Neighborhood electric vehicle” [shall mean] means:

I. Any 4-wheeled electric vehicle that has a maximum speed which is greater than 20 miles per hour but not greater than 25 miles per hour, and which complies with the federal safety standards established in 49 CFR section 571.500.

II. Any motorized wheelchair which is a self-propelled vehicle designed for and used by a person with a disability.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
