STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten

AN ACT allowing towns to hire certain health care workers.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Health Care Workers. Amend RSA 31 by inserting after section 103 the following new section:

31:103-a Health Care Workers. The governing board of a city, town, or village district may adopt, by ordinance or regulation, provisions for hiring a registered nurse or an APRN to provide basic health care services, including but not limited to, mediation between communities and health and human services systems, informal counseling and social support, and providing basic screening services. The health care worker shall have immunity against liability. The governing board of a city, town, or village district may establish an appropriate salary if a health care worker is hired under this section.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
