This bill requires school boards to develop and implement a dropout prevention and dropout recovery policy consistent with the provisions of the department of education’s dropout prevention and dropout recovery program.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten

AN ACT requiring school boards to develop dropout prevention policies.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Dropout Prevention and Dropout Recovery; School Board Policies Required. Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 59 the following new section:

189:59-a Dropout Prevention and Dropout Recovery; School Board Policies. No later than September 1, 2011, the school board of each school district in the state shall develop and implement a dropout prevention and dropout recovery policy consistent with the provisions of RSA 189:59.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
