HB 1551-FN-A - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT establishing cancer research number plates.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Safety states this bill will increase state restricted revenues and expenditures by an indeterminable amount in FY 2011 and each fiscal year thereafter. This bill will have no fiscal impact on county and local revenue or expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department of Safety states this bill will establish a cancer research number plate with revenues forwarded to the New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration (a non state entity), after deducting any special costs to the Department. Although the Department cannot predict the actual number of persons who would purchase these plates for the additional $35 fee, the Department assumes 1,600 plates will be manufactured and eventually issued. The cost to produce 1,600 sets of plates is $49,606; including purchasing 1 roll of new sheathing for $2,000, computer programming time of 250 hours at $175 per hour, ($43,750), and mailing costs of $3,856.
