AN ACT relative to disclosure of certain hospital fees.

This bill requires a physician’s office to disclose, prior to treatment, whether the patient will be assessed any fees because of the physician’s relationship with a hospital.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT relative to disclosure of certain hospital fees.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Disclosure of Certain Fees Required. Amend RSA 329 by inserting after section 31 the following new section:

329:32 Disclosure of Hospital Fees Required. Prior to treatment of any patient, a physician’s office shall disclose whether the patient will be assessed any fees because of the physician’s relationship with a hospital. The patient shall not be responsible for any fees which are not disclosed in accordance with this section.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
