AN ACT relative to gifts, grants, or donations received by the governor’s commission on disability.

ANALYSIS

This bill allows the governor’s commission on disability to advertise for individual and corporate donations. This bill also declares that the general court shall not reduce the budget of the governor’s commission on disability based on the amount of donations.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT relative to gifts, grants, or donations received by the governor’s commission on disability.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Statement of Purpose. The general court recognizes that the governor’s commission on disability may need a guideline for financial donations given to the commission. The money received by the commission may be applied to individual or group needs as deemed beneficial by the commission to protect and enhance the quality of life for disabled citizens of New Hampshire, to protect and enhance the liberties of the disabled citizens of New Hampshire, and to protect and encourage happiness for disabled citizens of New Hampshire through the pursuit of economic prosperity.

2 Governor’s Commission on Disability; Gifts, Grants, or Donations. Amend RSA 275-C:8 to read as follows:

275-C:8 Gifts, Grants, or Donations. The commission may advertise for individual and corporate donations and is authorized to receive any gifts, grants, or donations made for any of the purposes of its program and to disburse and administer the same in accordance with the terms thereof. The general court shall not reduce the budget of the commission based upon the amount of any donation or donations.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
