STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven
AN ACT prohibiting the office of energy and planning from requiring social security numbers from applicants of any program administered by the office, except when required under federal law or regulation.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Office of Energy and Planning; Requests for Social Security Numbers of Program Applicants Prohibited. Amend RSA 4-C by inserting after section 5-a the following new section:
4-C:5-b Requests for Social Security Numbers of Program Applicants Prohibited. The office of energy and planning shall not require social security numbers from applicants for any program administered by the office, except when required under federal law or regulation.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
