Whereas, since the beginning of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, millions of Iraqis and Afghanis have fled their homes for neighboring countries to avoid sectarian and other violence; and

Whereas, many Iraqis and Afghanis have put their lives and those of their families at risk by working for the United States government, United States corporations, the United States media, and other nongovernmental organizations; and

Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the New Hampshire general court urges Congress to introduce and support legislation designed to expedite the entry of political dissidents from Iraq and Afghanistan; and

That copies of this resolution, signed by the speaker of the house of representatives and the senate president, be forwarded by the house clerk to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the President of the United States Senate, and each member of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
