AN ACT relative to membership dues paid by towns.

This bill requires municipalities to make public a list of associations to which town officials or employees belong for which dues are paid by the municipality.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT relative to membership dues paid by towns.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Membership Dues Paid by Town. Amend RSA 31 by inserting after section 31:8-a the following new section:

31:8-b Membership Dues Paid by Town. Any town that pays membership dues to an association for any town official or town employee shall make available to the public at the office of the town clerk, a list of such associations and the amount of dues paid. Such list shall also be posted on the town’s website, if any.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
