HB 1287-FN - FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT relative to nonresident vehicle registration.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Safety and the New Hampshire Municipal Association state this bill will increase state and local revenue by an indeterminable amount in FY 2012 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county revenue, or state, county or local expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department of Safety and the New Hampshire Municipal Association state this bill allows nonresident property owners to register motor vehicles in New Hampshire. The Department and the Association state this allowance would increase state and local registration revenue, however neither entity has the information necessary to estimate the number of nonresidents who own property and who would choose to register their vehicles in New Hampshire.
