STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

AN ACT allowing a parent or guardian to withdraw a child from a school district which adopts the international baccalaureate program.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Legal Residence Required; Objection to International Baccalaureate Program. Amend RSA 193:12 by inserting after paragraph X the following new paragraph:

XI. Notwithstanding paragraphs I-X of this section, the parent or guardian of a child who objects to the implementation of the international baccalaureate (IB) program in the school district in which the child resides may withdraw the child from the district and may, with the approval of the school board of another school district, enroll the child in such district. Upon approval by the school board of another district, the treasurer of the school district in which the child resides shall forward an amount equal to the per pupil amount determined pursuant to RSA 198:41 for each child who is withdrawn based on an objection to the implementation of the IB program. Notwithstanding RSA 189:6, the parent or guardian shall be responsible for the child’s transportation to and from the district which the child is attending.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
