PETITION 27

PETITION FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVANCE

TO: The Honorable House of Representatives

FROM: Petitioner Representative Gene Charron, Rockingham 7

DATE: October 18, 2011

SUBJECT: Grievance of Monique Prince

Your Petitioner Representative Charron on behalf of Monique Prince hereinafter presents the following summary of her grievance and invokes the constitutional authority and duty of the Honorable House of Representatives pursuant to Articles 31 and 32 to bring about redress:

Grievance involving Judge Michael Ryan and Judge Paul Moore for erroneous application of the law relative to alimony, parental rights and responsibilities, health insurance coverage for spouses, child abuse and neglect, and domestic violence; for disregarding evidence; for creating false allegations against Ms. Prince; and for unjustly fining Ms. Prince for following court orders.

Wherefore, your Petitioner prays that the House of Representatives consider this proposed remedy:

1. Request a house resolution urging Judge Ryan and Judge Moore to personally apologize to Ms. Prince, her children, family, and friends in the presence of the administrative judge of the circuit court and the governor.

2. Request a house resolution urging Judge Ryan and Judge Moore to make a written apology to Ms. Prince and her children.

3. Amend the laws of this State to require judges who preside over cases in the judicial branch family division to take continuing education courses on domestic violence and child abuse and neglect.

4. Introduce legislation compensating Ms. Prince for the fines levied against Ms. Prince in the family court proceeding.

Respectfully submitted by Petitioner Representative Charron on Behalf of Monique Prince.
