STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen

AN ACT relative to bridge replacement and bridge aid funds.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Bridge Replacement and Bridge Aid Funds. Amend RSA 234 by inserting after section 5 the following new section:

234:5-a Bridge Replacement and Bridge Aid Funds. In order to encourage the early replacement and lowest cost for New Hampshire bridges that have been closed for vehicular traffic due to safety concerns, cities and towns may place the closed bridge on the schedule for bridge replacement aid funds from the state at the time of closure. If the bridge is replaced by the city or town at its cost prior to state aid funds being available, the state reimbursement shall come at a later date according to the bridge replacement aid schedule.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
