AN ACT requiring constitutional amendment concurrent resolutions to contain the language for the voter’s guide.

ANALYSIS

This bill provides that a constitutional amendment concurrent resolution (CACR) shall have the text of the language for the voter’s guide, if any, as part of the CACR.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

AN ACT requiring constitutional amendment concurrent resolutions to contain the language for the voter’s guide.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Constitutional Amendments Proposed by the General Court; Voter’s Guide. Amend RSA 663:3-a to read as follows:

663:3-a Voter’s Guides. If the general court proposes the constitutional amendment, the text of the statement for the voter’s guide, if any, shall be included in the resolution proposing the constitutional amendment. The joint committee on legislative facilities may authorize the printing or distribution of [a] the voter’s guide. [Distribution of the voter’s guide shall not take place until its text has been reviewed and approved by the house and senate policy committees which considered the proposed constitutional amendment.]

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
