AN ACT directing the department of environmental services to adopt rules relative to its 2009 numeric nutrient criteria for the Great Bay Estuary.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen

AN ACT directing the department of environmental services to adopt rules relative to its 2009 numeric nutrient criteria for the Great Bay Estuary.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Southeast Watershed Alliance; Rulemaking. Amend RSA 485-E by inserting after section 5 the following new section:

485-E:5-a Rulemaking. The department shall adopt rules, pursuant to RSA 541-A, relative to its 2009 numeric nutrient criteria for the Great Bay Estuary.

2 Department of Environmental Services; Peer Review. The department of environmental services shall submit the 2009 numeric nutrient criteria for the Great Bay Estuary to an independent peer review by scientists for an evaluation of the parties’ respective positions regarding the scientific basis, or lack thereof, for such criteria.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
