STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fifteen

AN ACT relative to the enactment of ordinances by municipalities permitting an assessment on hotel occupancy for the use of municipal services.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Assessment on Hotels for Use of Municipal Services. Amend RSA 31 by inserting after section 95-h the following new section:

31:95-i Assessment on Hotel Occupancy for Use of Municipal Services. Any municipality may adopt an article authorizing an assessment on hotel occupancy for the use of municipal services. No such assessment shall exceed $1 per unit per night and shall be collected directly by the municipality on a semiannual basis. In this section, “hotel” shall mean the same as defined in RSA?78-A:3, III.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
