STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trelative to stalking.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  Interference With Freedom; Stalking.  Amend the introductory paragraph of RSA 633:3-a, II(a) to read as follows:

\t\t\t(a)  "Course of conduct'' means 2 or more acts over a period of time, however short, which evidences a continuity of purpose.  A course of conduct shall not include constitutionally protected activity[, nor shall it include conduct that was necessary to accomplish a legitimate purpose independent of making contact with the targeted person].  A course of conduct may include, but not be limited to, any of the following acts or a combination thereof:

\t2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
