ANALYSIS

 

\tThis bill requires background checks for camp employees to be performed at least every 3 years.  

 

\tThis bill also requires certain licensed camps to retain information gained from background checks.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trelative to the frequency of background checks for camp employees.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  Background Checks; Various Camp Licenses.  Amend RSA 485-A:24, II(d) to read as follows:

 \t\t\t(d)  Background checks shall be performed at least every 3 years.  Nothing in this section shall preclude more stringent requirements for background checks on the part of camp owners, directors, or operators.

\t2  New Subparagraph; Background Checks; Various Camp Licenses.  Amend RSA 485-A:24, II by inserting after subparagraph (f) the following new subparagraph:

\t\t\t(g)  All information gained from a background check shall be retained by the organization requesting such background check.  

\t3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
