\tThis bill adds a member to the community college system of New Hampshire board of trustees who is also an employee of the community college system of New Hampshire.  The bill also limits trustees to 2 consecutive terms.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trelative to the membership of the community college system of New Hampshire board of trustees.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  New Subparagraph; Board of Trustees; Community College System of New Hampshire.  Amend RSA 188-F:4, II by inserting after subparagraph (k) the following new subparagraph:

\t\t\t(l)  One member shall be a current employee of the community college system of New Hampshire.  The New Hampshire state employees' association shall annually nominate from their members a panel of 5 such persons, no later than May 31 of each year.

\t2  Board of Trustees; Community College System of New Hampshire.  Amend RSA 188-F:4, III(b) to read as follows:

\t\t\t(b)  In cases where the terms of office of the members of the board of trustees do not expire in successive years, the governor, with the advice and consent of the council may, in making any appointment or filling any vacancy to such office, appoint any person for a period less than the full term or up to one year greater than the full term in order to adjust the terms of each member so that terms of office of no more than 5 members per year will expire.  Trustees shall serve no more than 2 consecutive terms.

\t3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
