STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trelative to names on ballots.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  New Paragraph; Candidate's Name on Ballot.  Amend RSA 655:14-b by inserting after paragraph IV the following new paragraph:

\t\tV.  Legal names shall be placed on the ballot in a manner that the appearance of the name is consistent with the appearance of other names on the ballot as determined by the secretary of state.  A candidate may appeal the decision of the secretary of state relative to the appearance of the candidate's name on the ballot to the ballot law commission within 5 days of receiving notification under RSA 664:22.

\t2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
