SB 409-FN- FISCAL NOTE

AN ACT\trelative to the first responder's critical injury benefit.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Labor states this bill, as introduced, will have an indeterminable fiscal impact on state general fund expenditures in FY 2017 and each year thereafter.  There will be no impact on state, county or local revenue or on county or local expenditures.

METHODOLOGY:

The Department states there would be no fiscal impact to the Department since the payments of the first responders critical injury benefit do not come from the Workers Compensation Division, but are drawn from the State general fund.  RSA 281-A:32-a, II currently limits the total amount to be paid to all claimants to $500,000, with each claimant limited to a maximum of $125,000.
