\tThis bill allows the board of licensing for alcohol and other drug use professionals to waive certain work experience and practical training license requirements for qualified persons practicing in another jurisdiction.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT\trelative to licensure of alcohol and drug abuse counselors from other jurisdictions.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

\t1  New Section; Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals; Waiver of Requirements.  Amend RSA 330-C by inserting after section 5 the following new section:

\t330-C:5-a  Waivers of License Requirements.  The board may waive provisions of this chapter requiring supervised work experience and practical training and grant a license as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor or master licensed alcohol and drug counselor to any applicant who presents proof of practice in another jurisdiction of the United States deemed sufficient by the board.  The board shall waive 1,000 hours of the supervised work experience and practical training required under RSA 330-A:16 or RSA 330-A:17 for each 10-year period of practice as an alcohol and drug counselor as long as there is no cause for denial of a license under RSA 330-C:15 or possible misconduct under RSA 330-C:27.  The applicant shall meet minimum education requirements, pass the examination required by the board, and pay the application and license fees as set under RSA 330-C:8.

\t2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Legislative Budget Assistant has determined that this legislation, as introduced, has a total fiscal impact of less than $10,000 in each of the fiscal years 2016 through 2020.
