ANALYSIS
This bill allows members of the general court to intervene in contested cases before administrative agencies and before the public utilities commission on matters that affect the interests of the residents, businesses, or communities they represent.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Administrative Procedures; Contested Cases; Intervention. Amend RSA 541-A:32 by inserting after paragraph V the following new paragraph:
VI. A petition for intervention submitted by a member or members of the general court in a contested case before the agency where the contested matter directly affects the interests of the residents, businesses, or communities they represent, shall be granted.
2 New Section; Public Utilities Commission; Proceedings; Intervention. Amend RSA 365 by inserting after section 10-a the following new section:
365:10-b Intervention by Members of the General Court. A member or members of the general court shall be permitted to intervene in a nonadjudicative or adjudicative proceeding before the commission where the matter before the commission directly affects the interests of the residents, businesses, or communities they represent.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2019.
