STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One
AN ACT banning a sentence of life imprisonment without parole for a juvenile convicted of homicide.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Homicide; Life Imprisonment Without Parole Prohibited for Juveniles. Amend RSA 630 by inserting after section 6 the following new section:
630:7 Life Imprisonment Without Parole Prohibited for Juveniles. No juvenile convicted as an adult for an offense under this chapter shall be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility for parole.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2022.
