AN ACT permitting licensed naturopathic doctors and chiropractors to delegate and assign interventions to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and licensed nursing assistants.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two

 

AN ACT permitting licensed naturopathic doctors and chiropractors to delegate and assign interventions to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and licensed nursing assistants.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Chiropractic; Penalties; Unlawful Practice; Delegation.  Amend RSA 316-A:25, II to read as follows:

II. Except pursuant to paragraph III, no person shall practice chiropractic as defined in this chapter without first obtaining a license from the board; provided that nothing in this chapter shall prohibit persons licensed under any other provision of New Hampshire law from performing activities within the scope of such a license. Any natural person who violates this paragraph shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor and any other person shall be guilty of a felony.

III.  Persons licensed as chiropractors pursuant to this chapter may delegate and assign interventions to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and licensed nursing assistants.

2  New Paragraph; Naturopathic Health Care Practice; Scope of Practice.  Amend RSA 328-E:4 by inserting after paragraph VI the following new paragraph:

VII.  Doctors of naturopathic medicine shall be permitted to delegate and assign interventions to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and licensed nursing assistants.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
