This bill adds public postsecondary educational institutions to the definition of "public employer" for the purpose of prohibiting discrimination in higher education.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two

 

AN ACT relative to rights to freedom from discrimination in higher education.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  State Commission on Human Rights; Right to Freedom From Discrimination in Public Workplaces and Education.  Amend RSA 354-A:30, III to read as follows:

III.  "Public employer" includes the state or any subdivision thereof, including, but not limited to counties, cities, towns, precincts, water districts, school districts, school administrative units, public postsecondary educational institutions, or quasi-public entities.

2  Prohibition on Teaching Discrimination.  Amend RSA 193:40, I to read as follows:

I.  No pupil in any public elementary or secondary school in this state and no student attending a public postsecondary educational institution shall be taught, instructed, inculcated, or compelled to express belief in, or support for, any one or more of the following:

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
